Pet Refuge provides temporary shelter and care for pets affected by domestic violence, keeping them safe while their owners escape abuse.

Pet Refuge believe no one should have to live with violence. They have built a shelter which will ensure pet owners know their animals are safe while they start a new life free from domestic violence.

With donations, Pet Refuge are a step closer to a future, where no one has to choose between their safety or the safety of their pets.

On Thursday 30th June it is our end of term school mufti day. We all give a gold coin donation for this day if we aren’t in uniform. This term, school would like to donate all our mufti day funds to Pet Refuge.

Mr Popping has been talking to us in assemblies about Manaakitanga and showing care and kindness towards each other. We were so generous with the 33 boxes of food recently gifted to Food Bank – here is another opportunity for us to show care. It might be that you don’t buy that bag of chips or those lollies one day and donate your coin to keeping others safe.

Keeping others safe from violence is serious stuff team, let’s see how many safe beds we can provide for animals.

Escaping domestic violence is hard

Escaping with a pet is even harder

Give a pet a safe bed

Safer pets, safer families.
